Questions about our content, spotted an error, or have feedback? We'd like to hear from you.
What we can and cannot help with
- Errors in a guide. If a figure, threshold, form reference or deadline on any page is wrong or out of date, tell us the page and the sentence, and ideally the IRS publication or form instruction that contradicts it. Verified corrections are made in place and the page’s “last updated” line changes.
- A calculator result that looks wrong. Send the inputs you used (no personal data is needed; the tools run in your browser and we never see what you enter) and what you expected. We reproduce it, fix the logic if it is a bug, or explain the assumption if it is not.
- Suggestions for new guides or tools. Most pages on this site began as reader questions. If a situation you face is not covered, describe it in general terms.
- Not your personal tax position. We cannot tell you how to report a specific transaction, whether a particular treatment applies to you, or what to do about a notice from the IRS. Those are questions for a licensed professional who can see your records, and the software comparison and the reporting guide explain how to prepare for that conversation.
What to include in your message
- The page or tool your question relates to (a link helps).
- A clear description of the issue or question.
- If reporting a possible error, the source you'd like us to check (for example, an IRS publication number).
We aim to respond to messages within a few business days. Messages are read by a person, your address is used only to reply to you, and we do not send marketing email. CryptoTaxAI is operated by Frontier Oak Property Holdings LLC; the about page and the editorial standards page describe how the site is run and how guides are sourced.
Before you write about a tax question
Three pages answer the most common questions we receive: whether you owe tax if you did not sell, how cost-basis methods differ, and what the new broker reporting means for your records. If your question is about a specific number on your own return, please take it to a CPA or enrolled agent rather than to us; we will say the same thing in our reply, and a professional can act on your records in a way we cannot.
